the baby next door cries when i pick up my guitar
she knows this song very well and she sings her favourite part
to think she'll never remember the free and boring days
well things are going to change
you're beautiful and I'm tired all the time
you stand on mountains i could never be bothered to climb
to think i suffer from the chances not worth taking
and lived by friendships I never imagined breaking
can't seem to remember where my friends are
at what point did we all fall apart
why did we break without reason
how can i be myself without them
well things are going to change
well things they already have
it will never be quite the same
oh well things are going to change

2 cups of coffee

2 cups of coffee a day
first one in the morning
second before bed
keeps me awake
much like your snoring
i enjoy painting pictures
but I'm no kind of artist
too bad i could never finish
almost everything I've started
terrible at driving a car
scared to walk alone after dark
can rely on my father to collect me
until the day he finally forgets me

you left your friends in the dark
without a single care
refused the explanation they demanded
i wish it wasn't me
i wish i was never there
with one leg left I'm barely even standing
hold my hand while we run
we're all connected
you can't solve a thing with your perfectly chosen words
a glass of wine won't put an end to violence
all you ever want is to speak and to be heard
but with you i can't help wish for silence
as you pull me under
you have my attention
there's no need to mention
the reasons that made you choose
all the things you never wanted to say
but felt you had to

for seven years ive seen you around
isnt it funny how we only meet now
in the congregation at my side you stand
peace be with you, you shake my hand
the priest tells us how talented we are
with our lives ahead we're gonna go far
but my mind can't help but feel with doubt
the mournful statues are staring me down
they hold their breathes as they climb the steps
read a prayer like the morning news
i cant believe we grew
all the people i never knew
kind words on paper
but you still cant save her
her head on you shoulder
but you still havent told

please close the door behind you as you leave
my eyes are tired and sore
but i can't sleep
never sleep
we're running on empty
and i can't hear a word you say
suddenly i regret being here
and every small decision i ever made
the sun went down
and i hate all my friends
it's been dark for 20 minutes now
too sober to pretend
in a moment everything could change

Bob Ross

i just wanna be like clyde
but curiosity won't keep me alive
without the satisfaction of taking a chance
at worst I'm in the clouds
hanging from a branch
you'll be the bride
i'll be the groom
we'll dance in the hallway
in the hotel on the moon
we scream cause we cant be heard
way down there on earth
we're so far from earth
you're heavy like water
i'm steeped in oil
we spent the afternoon
watching Bob Ross tutorials
your paintings are bright and clear
but i wanna know your fears
please tell me all your fears

you already know what it is

why has nothing happened yet
when i believed every word that they said
i hardly know much
don't expect you to care
for what is over the hills
i'll see you there
i'm barely a woman
only half a girl
the world waits for me
i stare back at the world
it's got a gun pointing at my face
and i just wanna be taken out
on a date
you've got ideas
a religion of your own
something that speaks for you
and tells you where to go
your expectations could never prepare
for what is over the hills
i'll see you there
